Man says through aide leaving coma like rebirth
BRUSSELS — With a caretaker holding his hand, a Belgian man who was diagnosed as comatose for 23 years typed out a message Tuesday that he felt reborn after decades of loneliness and frustration.
Car-crash victim Rom Houben was diagnosed as being in a vegetative state but appears to have been conscious the whole time, doctors here said. An expert using a specialized type of brain scan that was not available in the 1980s says he finally realized Houben was conscious and provided him with the equipment to communicate.

Last week's parlay came oh so close to paying off, and my prowess at CFL Playoff picks was, once again, confirmed. This week it's Seattle over the hapless Rams who have an injured QB and the Grey Cup. While I don't typically pull for the Als, coach Mark Trestman's squad is on a roll and will provide the coach with one last victory in Montreal before Trestman takes over as the Buffalo Bills head coach next season (that's a BOJ prediction, folks - bank it...).

As a Broncos fan, this is something I almost never do. I find the line much too low, presumably based on the Broncos' two game losing streak.
