.500 Sucks
Another 0-2 week brings me exactly to .500, .500 on spreads, .500 on o/u's, .500 for everything. And somehow I'm -$100 for the season.
So close, on the spread anyway. Maybe Indy's offense is back, making a nice showing in the second half, and ruining any chance of me winning the over/under.
Let's look at how bad I was at ranking the playoff teams before the playoffs started:
I sure hope nobody was turning to me for advice.....

Looks like the big D is back in ChicagoSean Payton had a masterful season handling a different sort of assortment of players on offense. Expect big things in the future. New OrleansAs banged up as they were, they were lucky to get this far..... SeattleIndianapolis A Manning finally plays in a Super Bowl!A nice playoff run for this injured but extremely well coached team. PhiladelphiaTO drops a pass in a one point game, but I'm sure someone else is to blame for their loss to the Seahawks. Lost as close a game as you'll ever see to a banged up Seattle team. DallasA fine year for a team with, at best, 8-8 talent. They're moving in the right direction. Best of luck next year. New York JetsTalent just doesn't do it for this crew. They'll start next year with a new running back and a new coach. New York GiantsCouldn't run the ball, couldn't move the ball offensively at all against the Colts. Played good defense in the first half, but let a close game slip away in the second. Kansas City

Initially I was pulling for New Orleans vs San Diego... but yes S.D.'s stupid loss screwed that up. Then I was thinking... well New Orleans vs Indianapolis would be a great Super Bowl XXI, but since the Saints couldn't seem to keep themselves together against Chicago in the 4th quarter that screwed that match up. Finally I thought it would be cool for a repeat of Super Bowl XX - Chicago vs New England, but Indy spoiled that. (does anyone remember New Englands song for Superbowl XX? - yes, they countered Chicago's Super Bowl Shuffle.)
Now we get to hear for the next two weeks about the friendship between Tony D. and 'Lovey' Smith and that this is the first time in history 2 African-American head coaches play against one another in the Super Bowl. Both are cool little factoids, but I hope there's more for the sports/news people to talk about in the coming weeks than that.
Finally, all I can say is it better be a great game and not a blow out. I think the Bears defense can hold the Colts offense. But I also think Chicago's offensive line will make plenty of holes in Indy's defense to make big scoring plays on the ground. Anyways... being an NFC fan rooted in the NFC North... GO BEARS!
