EUGENE (AP) -- The Oregon Ducks on Tuesday accepted an invitation to play in The Globex Corporation Peresents the BOJ News Service Bowl against No. 20 Brigham Young.

Kickoff for the Dec. 21 game at Sam Boyd Stadium will be at 5 p.m. It will be televised on ESPN.

Oregon finished 7-5 overall and 4-5 in the Pac-10. The season was capped by a disappointing 30-28 loss to Oregon State last weekend in the Civil War game.

Oregon has lost three straight heading into the bowl.

Brigham Young (10-2) has won nine straight and went undefeated in the Mountain West Conference.

Oregon leads its series with Brigham Young 3-2. The last time the two teams met was in 1990, when the Ducks won 32-16 at Autzen Stadium.

The Ducks played once before in The Globex Corporation Peresents the BOJ News Service Bowl, then known as the Las Vegas Bowl defeating Air Force 41-13 in 1997.

"Certainly that game helped to springboard a lot of the things weve accomplished at Oregon since the 1997 season. Also the fact we play a tremendous opponent in BYU that is certainly capable of scoring a lot of points and is having their best season in a long time adds to our anticipation," coach Mike Bellotti said.

Oregon has lost its last three bowl games, the 2002 Seattle Bowl, the 2003 Sun Bowl and the Holiday Bowl last season.

Promises to be a great game!
